You asked for it and we brought it! Here’s a part 2 of our skin-vestment blog where we deep dive with some of our favorite skincare influencers on their top tips when it comes to buying skincare, their existing skin issues, and looking at their thoughts on industry trends. Also, do read part 1 of this blog if you haven’t already where we talk about must-have ingredients in skincare.
What key Ingredients should you look for when shopping Skincare?
Niyanta, a skincare and lifestyle influencer, says “I always try keeping my skincare intentional & shop for ingredients that cater to my skin concerns.” It’s imperative to take note of your skin concerns before blindly following trends that may or may not benefit your skin.
Always look for ingredients which are well-known for the concern listed, and has the right amount of concentration levels.
Based on a survey we did, some of the current and popular ingredients choices include Vitamin C, Retinol, Ceramides, Niacinamides, Aloe vera and Azelaic acid.
What are your Favorites Skincare ingredients and products to use?
Some products are preferred over others because they bring about the necessary changes to the skin!
Kajol, a beauty and lifestyle influencer, prefers vitamin C capsules as it offers convenience and better durability of the product as opposed to a liquid bottle that can go bad by frequent exposure to air and light. She further recommends Tretinoin, an ointment with good concentration of retinol, which has proven to deliver amazing results.
Tuba, a dentist by profession and a skincare content creator, swears by Beaumark Beauty’s Maskne Gentle Cleanser. Tuba says, “My entire day revolves around Wearing a mask which leads to acne and this one has been helping A LOT”. She also likes to use Cosrx Snail Mucin because it helps to calm her skin down followed by the Qurez Sunscreen.
Shalini, another beauty content creator, mentions that Vitamin C and Hyaluronic acid are her favourite as they keep her skin glowing and hydrated.
Final Tips For Beginners in Skincare Investment
All of our contributors have some beneficial tips in skin investment. Niyanta urges her audience to be intentional with their purchases. Keeping a basic routine and adding treatment products one at a time will allow your skin to accept and react accordingly. Consistency is the key when it comes to skincare and maintaining a routine will take you a long way. Start adding treatment products one at a time and do not try every trendy product out there. Be intentional with your skincare purchases.
Kajol said “Do not experiment with too many products at once. Start with a basic CTM routine. Stick to your products for at least 4-6 months.”
Tuba’s words of wisdom aligns with Beaumark’s mission to say #Notocoloursim and #skinloveisselflove. She says “Don’t hate the skin you’re in. Do not copy every routine you see on the internet. You don’t need A LOT of products. Minimal skincare routine is the key instead of Multi step skincare routine. Just topical products are not sufficient, internal nourishment is just as important. Don’t be too hard on yourself.”
At the end of the day, all that matters is you are having fun with your skincare routine and investing smartly for desired results.
We hope this blog serves as a starting point for all those of you who are in the process of building a skincare routine and want to make informed decisions.
